The Tree Where Dead People Grow

Sam is a freshman at a college in Boston and has an overactive imagination. His father is a descendant of Samuel Adams, a historian, and an author that has just published a book about an American symbol just a block from Sam's dorm, The Liberty Tree. When Sam meets Arienette, a girl who was born in Iraq, she reveals the flexible truth about his father's beloved historical symbols, The Sons of Liberty and The Liberty Tree. They both come to question their cultural identities that have become intertwined by current events, in the context of their countries, their personal beliefs, their sense of hope and their contrasting and sometimes bloody, historical pasts.
